IASSIDD 2019

Congress Art

In December 2018,   the IASSIDD Local Organising Committee joined forces with Project Ability to launch an Open Call for artists with a learning disability to submit work for exhibition at the 2019 IASSIDD World Congress, which is coming to Glasgow in August.

We are delighted to announce the 5 finalists who will exhibit their work at the @SECGlasgow in August for the @IASSIDD World Congress are:

  • Painter James Macdonald, Dumbarton
  • Photographer David Cormack, Comrie
  • Illustrator and artist Ian Bruin, Airdie
  • Painter Cameron Morgan, Stenhousemuir
  • Digital illustration Tzipporah Johnston, Edinburgh

The final five were picked by artists Ian Wornat and Thompson Hall who work at the Action Space Studio in London.

“ I am very pleased that my work has been selected to be exhibited at the IASSIDD conference because I like making details and I like people to see them “
– Ian Bruin

“ I am very pleased that my work has been selected to be exhibited at the IASSIDD conference because it’s a great opportunity for autistic people to be taken seriously as artists”
– Tzipporah Johnston

The five artists share a great command of their art form and the exhibition is an amazing platform for showcasing for their talent and creativity.
